TOMATO FESTIVAL PARADE

ABOUT OUR PARADE

The Pittston Tomato Festival Committee cordially invites you to the 41st ANNUAL PITTSTON TOMATO FESTIVAL PARADE, which will be held in downtown Pittston on Saturday, August 17th, at 11:00 a.m. All area civic, social, and school organizations, as well as public officials, are encouraged to participate. ​

 

We are asking for your participation, but participation with a flare. Do something special for us this year. Decorate your vehicle or create a tomato-themed float. Make a Banner to let us know who you are. Tell us about you and/or your organization.

 

There will be a 5K run starting first, so the streets will be blocked off at 9:30 a.m. Participants in the parade need to be lined up by 9:30 a.m. The parade route is approximately two miles long and will begin on Main Street of South Pittston, proceed through Downtown, and around to Kennedy Boulevard, ending on East Street, adjacent to Coopers Co-op Building.

 

It is time to start preparing. Time goes by quickly, so make plans now. Please complete the enclosed entry form and return it to us by August 5th so we can set up the divisions, etc.

 

Don’t miss out on all the FUN, FOOD, FRIENDS, and TOMATOES…….

 

Due to the 5K Run, the streets will be blocked at 9:30 a.m. All participants in the parade must be lined up by 9:30 a.m. There will be no exceptions.

All area civic, social, and school organizations, as well as public officials and fire and ambulance departments, are encouraged to participate.

 

Please note that the parade will be broadcasted and televised by the Astound TV Network

REGISTER TO PARTICIPATE

 

We ask that you limit your entry to two units because of space restrictions.

Entry fee for FOR PROFIT entities is $25/Entry. 

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

PLEASE NOTE: Due to logistical placing we will not be allowing oversized vehicles such as 18 wheelers, oil or cement trucks, etc.

 

CANDIDATES: Only incumbents are able to participate in the parade. Please describe in detail your entry in the parade. Please list names of featured performers such as a Drum Major, Head Twirler or major participants on your float/vehicle and describe type of vehicle. Please be sure to describe any special awards or recognition your group may have received.

 

PLEASE NOTE POLITICAL ADVERTISING IS PROHIBITED.

 

All entries should be festive and themed.

 

Candy must be BAGGED &  handed out not thrown.

 

Animals must be leashed.
